Our second CD with Trevor. This one was about his "travel" songs, "Depression Era", you might say. Sparse and lyric oriented, it also has him playing acoustic leads and slide gtrs.
We added basses, drums and percussion where needed.
Tracks:
"Troubled Times" - funky story telling
"Thunder Bay" - gentle acoustic song
This is Paul's second CD with us. Once again, we built arrangements around his initial rhythm guitar and vocal.
This album reflected a more country influence than his first, and we used fiddle, pedal steel, banjo and mandolin by Mike Stidolph.
We added additional gtrs, dobro, basses, drums, B3 and horn and strings. Also, big harmonies and bkgd vocals, and several duets with Annie.
Tracks:
"Build A Better World"
"Movin On" - duet with Annie
"Run River Run"
"Lay Down My Bet"
This was Chris' second CD here. The emphasis on this one was to capture the basic sound of his live band, "Chris Kendall and the Coulee Kings". You might call this "New Grass" because of the bluegrass influences.
The line up was Chris on acoustic gtr, Mark Gunderson on stand-up bass and Tom M. on acoustic lead gtr and dobro. All three sang harmonies. Tom added brushed drums on some tracks.
Tracks to listen to:
"Jimmy and the Moon" - uptempo
"My Reflection" - folk
Lew's first CD. Great writing and great vocals to work with.
Same process as the new "U-Funk" CD. Started with lead vocals over nothing but rhythm gtr and a drum loop for pitch and time. Whoa.
Tracks:
"Take Me" - rock ' n' roll, yo
"Dance With Me (Disco Rose)" - Sly Stone groove
"I Want To Compromise" - beautiful sparse ballad
"Uh Oh, Zydeco" - pass the sauce
"Coloured Folks Can't Have Nuthin'" - "beat" by M.C. Loone
Frozen Tundra
Kingpens
style: rap, hip-hop
A really talented Rap group from Eau Clare, WI., possibly not together under this name, so no website to link to.
Most of their "beats" were done by them off-site.
However, we did contribute at least 2 or 3 tracks, ourselves.
Tracks:
Prove Jack - their track
Dance and Learn- track by M.C. Loone (Annie)
You So Hot - track by monte x (Tom)
Harbinger is a great local band that plays progressive speed metal.
They were very well rehearsed and wanted to record "live in the studio", including lead vocals. We did six songs in two days, and they opted for using five for an EP.
Tracks:
"It Never Ends"
"Observe and Report"
Surf Nation is Tom Moncrieff's "3rd wave" instrumental surf band. Loud and eclectic, they played songs that were influenced by a wide range of music, from Dick Dale to Metallica to Ennio Morricone.
Initial tracking was done with bass, drums, and two electric gtrs. Expanded guitar sounds, and orchestra on "Trempeleau".
Tracks:
"Ali Baba" - classic "speed" surf
"Lock 'n' Dam 5" - industrial surf-rock
"Sex Wax" - funky surf-rock
